My group involves Sarah, Eli and Connor. We are creating a time line prezi of Modernism to now. We have done quite a bit of research and it should be finished by the end of the week.

Today in class I worked on improving my resume and making it achieve its full potential. I also worked with my group on what we will work on for our final project. Though my to do list was short, I worked on it thoroughly and finished what needed to be done.

Best Of American Lit.

Thinking back on the year, I have learned and understood quite a bit. I was best at writing the journals and putting my own thoughts into words. I learned all about postmodernism and I understand all the elements it is composed of. I learned how to present my thoughts and projects in different medias. Lastly, I was able to broaden the way I think about things, by reading other people's blogs and collaborating with the other students in my class.

Derby Reportage

One article talks about how Diane Crump became the first woman jockey. The tone is uplifting and encourages people to fight for what they want in life. Diane race against men and came in 15th out of 17 spots. Even when Diane finished racing, she bred horses to keep up with her passion.The second article's focus is less on the actual race itself, since Thompson and Steadman could not actually see the race from their standpoint, and more on the celebration that surrounds the event. Thompson provides up-close views of life in the Derby infield as well as the grandstand, and a running commentary on the drunkenness of the crowd, which he states in narration as the only thing he was focusing on with the work. The narrative ends in a bittersweet way, for after several days of immersing themselves in partying and drunkeness to get a sense of the event, the guys realize they're exactly the type of people they originally planned to imitate.

Johnny Cyberpunk

You are able to tell this story by William Gibsons is cyberpunk or gonzo journalism because of the sci fi exaggerations and so on. Johnny Mnemonic is a data trafficker who has undergone cybernetic surgery to have a data storage system implanted in his head. Johnny is rescued by Molly, a "Razorgirl" who has undergone extensive body modifications, most notably fingernail blades. When Lewis tries to attack her, she cuts his wrist tendons and takes the incapacitating device control from him. cuts Ralfi to pieces with a razor-sharp monomolecular wire hidden in a prosthetic thumb. Johnny fires his shotgun at the assassin but misses due to the man's enhanced reflexes cybernetically enhanced dolphin retired from navy service. The story’s central theme is that superior technology does not defeat one’s enemy; what is needed is the best use of the technology one chooses.

My Slaughterhouse

          Breaking the fourth wall, having no chronological order, using irony, playfulness, and black humor are all elements of postmodernism. These elements all come together in the novel "Slaughterhouse Five," by Kurt Vonegut. Including many examples, the novel exemplifies postmodernism with the help of temporal distortion, metafiction and several other characteristics.

Postmodernist Project

This is our picture for the postmodernist project. We are dead bodies spelling "So it goes". Those words are used in the book, Slaughterhouse Five by, Kurt Vonegut. The people involved in this project are, Whitney Houg, Sarah Stevens, Eli Esparza, Connor Albright, Syerra Fox and Miyah Velasquez.

Billy board a plane that he knows is going to crash. A barbershop quartet of optometrists called the Four-eyed Bastards serenade the passengers. Billy remember a public hanging he witnessed in Dresden in which a Polish man died for having sexual realtions with a German woman.
Billy dozes off and goes back to war and tells the Three Musketeers to go on without him.
The plane crashes into Sugarbush Mountain in Vermont, and Billy survives with a fractured skull. Billy whispers “Schlachthof-fünf” (“Slaughterhouse-Five”in German), a phrase he learned in Dresden in order to communicate the address of his prison if he got lost. The ski instructors transport

Billy takes drugs to fall asleep and wakes up in his prison bed next to Edgar Derby and Paul Lazzaro. Billy remembers how he dies because he has seen it before. Englishman who beat up Lazzaro stops by, and Lazzaro tells him that he is going to have the officer killed after the war. The sweetest thing in life, he claims, is revenge. Billy says he has all the ways he is going to die recorded on a cassette that he has left in a safe-deposit box in a bank.Billy is amazed by Dresden’s architecture.
